Speckled White Oreo Pops {No-Bake}

Hello, friends!

I’m so excited to share some deliciousness with you all today!

This weekend was my Tae Kwon Do brown belt test.

While I wish I didn’t look quite so flail-ish in this photo, I would like to make myself feel better by pointing out the bottom half of my board, which is flying away behind me. ;)

Since I have this silly notion that all special events deserve some sort of special treat {and this was my 5th test, with none of the previous ones having had anything of the sort}, I decided to bring something!

I’m sort of on a cake pop fix just lately, and I found online the fabulousness of no-bake Oreo pops that I had been missing out on, I decided to change it up a bit and give it a go!

First off, I decided on white Oreos instead since I seem to be the queen of having things in my teeth and not knowing it {does nobody love me enough to tell me??}.

Second, I decided to try to add a little extra something: mini chocolate chips. Yum. I wasn’t sure if the pre-dipped pops would stick together very well with the chips, so I tested it out on a couple before making the whole batch.

They turned out fabulous! Very tasty and pretty easy. Sort of a mixture of chocolate chip cookie dough and cheesecake {I had you at chocolate chip cookie dough, right??}.

Here you are, friends!

Speckled White-Oreo Pops {No-Bake}

Ingredients:

1 package white Oreos

1 8 oz. package cream cheese

Mini chocolate chips

Vanilla candy melts (I used Wilton)

Cake pop sticks

Directions:

Pull apart the white Oreos and blend them in a food processor until they are a fine powder {or crush them up some other way}.

Mix them with 2/3 of the {room temperature} cream cheese package.

Mix completely until batter sticks together.

Add mini chocolate chips and mix again.

Add more cream cheese until everything sticks together nicely.

Form batter into a ball and refrigerate for 10-20 minutes if needed.

During this time, heat the candy melts according to the package directions.

Remove the Oreo batter from the fridge and form into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls, placing them on wax paper.

Dip your cake pop sticks into the candy melt about 1 inch, and then insert them into the middle of your cake balls.

Place in the freezer for 20 minutes.

During the first batch I made, I reheated the candy melts just before removing the balls from the freezer… this caused a problem because the very-warm coating combined with the frozen balls resulted in a few that cracked after they hardened. With the second batch, I simply placed the coating in the microwave to stay warm while the balls were in the freezer and it turned out to be perfect!

Remove the balls from the freezer and dip carefully. While the candy coating is still wet, dip the pops in sprinkles or decorations of your choice, or wait until they’ve hardened and drizzle colored candy coating over the top! I chose to leave mine plain ol’ white because I had other plans…

Using some black licorice strings, I turned my pops into black belt cake pops!

I have a feeling I’ll be making these again at future belt promotion tests!

  2. These look fantastic. I want to make some for my twins birthday. I live in Australia so I am wondering what candy melts are? Would love to find the equivalent over here :)

  3. First of all… CONGRATS! Second of all, I need to give these a try STAT! I have NEVER tried cake balls, primarily because the baking step, slightly intimidated me… now I have NO EXCUSE, being that these are NO-BAKE! Thanks for sharing! ;)
