After I put together my preschool art center, I had leftover supplies! I’ve been brainstorming for a few weeks now on what to do with those adorable little buckets!
They’re a bit too small and impractical for grown-up office supply storage, and I couldn’t think of anywhere else in the house that needed small, separated hanging {because not hanging seemed too cluttered} storage such as this. Plus, they seemed too cutesy for anything besides kids’ stuff {or my husband would think so, anyway}, so that left me challenged.
Well, yesterday I figured it out! My makeup! This is perfect! Until now, my makeup area has always looked like this:
And I’m pretty sure this is on a good day! There have also been times where I can’t seem to find a specific makeup brush, and have located it weeks later in my daughter’s room. But my vanity is just too small to be able to keep it out of reach, and, let’s be honest, putting it all back in the bag and safely put away in the cupboard is a nice idea, but just doesn’t happen during my chaotic mornings.
So yesterday I took those leftover adorable little pails and started experimenting with decorating them. I ended up wrapping them each in different patterns of scrapbook paper {attached with hot glue} and tying bows around them {also attached with hot glue so they don’t slide down}!
Oh, my, this definitely fits my love of all things pink and girlie!
I then took the extra towel rod, also leftover from theĀ preschool art center, and hung it right below my bathroom mirror cabinet. Then, I hung all four buckets with ribbon! As also with the art center, I attached the ribbon to the rod with just a dot of hot glue, so they don’t slide around.
Didn’t that turn out cute? It has proven to be very practical, and keeps my makeup out of reach of my little ones! I love it!
I would also love to hear about your wonderful makeup storage ideas, so feel free to share some pictures!

I LOVE this idea! My two teen daughters make a mess in their bathroom and are always leaving things on the counter. Maybe they would put stuff away if I did this!
Hi Tawnya! I'm so glad you came by my little world! I have definitely been known to have makeup scattered all over the counter, and this has helped me SO much!
That’s an ingenious idea! I love it!
You have a beautiful blog! I’m following you now (I found you through Olive & Ivy).
